Johann Genflaish, called Gutenberg (1400-68), is credible with inventing printing in the 15th century. He mixed soot with oil for use as ink and used a modified wine press to print onto paper! Thus the first printing machine was developed. Book copyists declared him to be a heretic and destroyed his press, but the Church in general welcome the invention.
